Workplace Violence: A Risk Management Approach to Protecting the Workplace
Speaker
Hector Alvarez, MSPsy/CTM
Over the last several years, the healthcare field has experienced an increase in workplace violence. Unfortunately, in many incidents, it is often discovered after the fact that there were warning signs that were overlooked, misunderstood, or ignored. This presentation reviews barriers and opportunities in preventing violence from the first observation, assessment, response, and recovery. Through interactive dialogue and real-life case studies, this presentation will help attendees understand the key elements involved with establishing and maintaining a workplace violence prevention program that aligns with other organizational objectives and strategies.
